Easy Waffle Recipe for Kids - Dairy Free

These delicious Easy No-Sugar Breakfast Waffles are super easy to make and only need a few ingredients. Coconut sugar is used instead of castor sugar as a healthy swap to prevent a sugar spike and the butter and milk are dairy free. But if you don't need dairy free just of course use dairy!

Equipment

  • 1 Waffle Maker

Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups All purpose flour
  • 2 tbsp Coconut sugar
  • 4 tsp Baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp Pink salt or salt
  • 2 Eggs
  • 1 1/2 cups Oat milk or cups
  • 6 tbsp Dairy Free Butter melted or butter
  • 1 tsp Vanilla Extract

Instructions
 

  • Turn on the waffle maker to start heating up
  • Mix all dry ingredients together - All purpose flour, Coconut sugar, Baking powder, Pink salt or salt.
  • Now add all wet ingredients - milk, eggs, vanilla extract & melted butter
  • Mix the wet and dry ingredients together to make a liquid consistency. Mix until there are no lumps. Squash all lumps with a spoon.
  • Add liquid into the waffle maker and let the waffles cook for approximately 6-8 minutes.
  • Add waffles to drying rack and let them cool completely.
  • Once cool either eat or add into a ziplock bag and pop them in the freezer. They are also okay in the fridge for 2/3 days.

Notes

The number of waffles made will depend on how thick you make the waffles. The waffles can be toasted, eaten cold or warmed up in the microwave. 
I freeze our waffles and get what I need out the night before. My kids eat them cold with some butter or jam on, on the go.
I also use these as a great option to go camping with to have an easy breakfast!
